The White Horses
At Espire Retreats we have four very special horses. They have all lived with Sarah for many years and have taught her as much as she has taught them.
JUMBO
17hh 16 year old Danish Warmblood.
He was bought as a Dressage Schoolmaster. He is a totally sweet-natured horse whose honesty had been abused. Conventional training methods had practically given him a nervous breakdown and this led Sarah to learn Natural Horsemanship. He is now sane, happy and the mascot for Espire.
TABBY
16hh 15 years Irish Draught X Thoroughbred.
She was bred by Sarah. She is a very ‘human’ horse and has plenty to say about all that is done to her. She would like you to think she is a ‘tough cookie’ but when you get into her mind she is a real softie.

She has been part of Sarah’s life for nearly 25 years. Once described by Horse Whisperer Richard Maxwell as a “wily old bird” she has plenty of experience of humans and knows how to play them!
GLISS
13.2hh 20 YEAR OLD Connemara Pony.
She was originally bought for breeding. She is a wonderful pony with a heart of gold. She knows her mind and is an excellent judge of character.
